Anthropic's 'less capable' Opus 4.7 debuts after Mythos
Anthropic has unveiled Claude Opus 4.7, an AI model that excels in software engineering and task execution but blocks higher-risk cybersecurity requests, CNBC reports. The release is "broadly less capable" than Claude Mythos, the company says. Opus 4.7 includes safeguards to prevent misuse and aims to gather insights from its deployment. Anthropic has said it does not plan to release Mythos widely, but the U.S. government has already embraced it, preparing to make the model available to some federal agencies, Bloomberg reports, citing an internal memo.
